First “Operama ShowCase” 2015.03.05

First “Operama ShowCase”

The first Operama Showcase, Operama Unveiled, was held at Ferrum Tower located in Seoul, Korea on March 5th. The Showcase was to promote Operama Arts Administration Research Institute’s education program series, “Kiss with Insane Composers”, which will be a unique education content for corporate employee education programs.
The Showcase touched on one of the current issues of our society, the relationship between the strong and the weak, through stories of two “insane” composers, Beethoven and Mozart. The Showcase had different segments that included performance, lecture, and role-playing by the audience, which the audience enjoyed and was entertaining.
The education series, “Kiss with Insane Composers”, will be continued, as there are 28 more untold stories of other “insane” composers.

Follow our NEWS and see which “insane” composer will be introduced next.

Do Ho Suh’s Fabric Residences

Welcome To The Cloth House: Do Ho Suh’s Fabric Residences

Do Ho Suh’s floating fabric structures explore the concept of “home” and the relationship between the nomadic artist and his temporary living quarters. The South Korean sculptor recreates his former residences — crammed studios, traditional family units, Manhattan pre-war apartment buildings — in diaphanous silk or polyester, which he suspends over a metal framework, giving these solid structures a tenuous, transitory quality. Read more!
The South Korean Suh first received art-world attention with “Seoul Home/Seoul Home,” in which he replicated his childhood home, a traditional hanok in the Seongbuk-dong neighborhood, in gossamer jade-colored Chinese silk. Since then, the nomadic artist has paid homage to his young-adult apartments in New York City and Berlin.
